Birthday Sundae

So, it's my birthday! Free dessert, you gotta love it.

More Ducts

This time, at the Black Angus.

Peasant Hat

Some names just kind of stick. Don't know why, but, we like to call that his "peasant hat".

He's just so squeezably soft. And nice and warm, too.

Our Homeless

So, there's this "homeless" guy around the corner, and, it must be quite lucrative, because, I've seen him there a lot lately. It's cold out there, but, he's got a nice jacket--and gloves. And a cellphone...

It's not so much that he's in the car seat all the time, it's just that, well--he does move around rather a lot.

I never thought of my house as particularly spooky, or anything. But, with the right lighting...

Happy Baby

He's such a giggly baby, you can't help but smile.

Julian's Room

Uh, that's about it for the fancy decorations.

We thought it'd be great if he was a musical prodigy. You know, just naturally do all that stuff we still suck at. Okay, so he's a little young...

Uncle Tony

He's such a people person, it's hard to imagine babies being any other way.

In Your Arms

It seems like just yesterday he could fit in the palm of your hand.

Sometimes, you gotta make do.

Sometimes, people just don't like getting their picture taken, even when the light is good...a shame.

Feeding 6/6

The other thing about feeding time, it's the the only time he'll let you do just about anything you want--clip his nails, pick his nose, clean his ears...

Feeding 5/6

Something about the way his warm little body just lays there, it can be very soothing, to you, too.

Feeding 4/6

Maybe Julian's just weird that way, but, sometimes, he'll be totally unwilling to drink--but wait a while, and next thing you know, he's finished two bottles.

Feeding 3/6

Babies have these funny mannerisms which can be totally baffling at first. Apparantly, scratching the head means, "I'm about to fall asleep".

Feeding 2/6

We're always amazed at how much patience Julian has. He can be sitting there literally for hours, suckling on a bottle, perfectly content.

Feeding 1/6

Feeding is usually the only/best time to catch the baby being relatively still. Light's usually pretty good, too.

Little Astronaut

Julian still warming up to the new car seat. Note the ever-present bib.

Pooh Hood

Okay, baby clothes tend to be either super functional, or, totally rediculous. Some of it, though, can be pretty darn cute.

Creative Playthings

Julian playing with a genuine vintage 1970's crib toy. Heck, might even be a collectible. Hope it's not worth too much!

I'm not sure why, I just kinda liked the mood. Yeah, could use a bit of cropping, but, that'd be against the grain.

Wonder Woman

This is a trained professional. Don't try this at home.

All Milked Out

Man, sometimes babies can be just so hilarious.

Standing Tall

Sometimes it just hits you that he's there. It's like magic.

Suit and Tie

With the baby and all, I'd given up on the jacket, but, gosh, I'd almost forgotten what a tie even feels like.

All Dressed Up

First time we've had a chance to get dressed up since the little one came along. Doesn't seem like much, but, it's notable.

Jason and Angela

Some people just don't like getting they're picture taken. Of course, that just makes you try harder.

Baby Food

It's funny, they start off just drinking milk, and, they drink so much of it, it seems like that's all they'll ever eat. Next thing you know, though, they're eating right off your plate!

She's all grown up now. Doesn't look so much like the girl from Monster's Inc., anymore, but, she's still cute.

Chinese Weddings

This was the first traditional Chinese wedding I'd ever been to, and I had a blast. Usually weddings and babies don't mix, but, the kids seemed to have a great time, too.

Attendant Gifts

Up until we had our wedding, I never even knew those things even had a name.

Big Night Out

Julian's first big to-do, Milton and Kim's wedding--in the City, no less. Took a bit just to get there, but, he was a trooper all the way. We'd just gotten him a new car-seat, just for the occasion. But, we also brought along the infant carrier, too. Good thing, it kept him occupied the whole night, and, he ended up falling asleep in it, too.

Little Potbelly

You might notice a lot of pictures of him eating. Well, that's because he likes to eat, you see?

It doesn't seem to matter what time you show up at the doctor's office, no matter how early or how late, you still have to wait an hour.

Super Trooper

Waiting for the doctor at his six month checkup. Ended up getting three shots, and only cried a bit.

Julian Street

Now, this isn't the actual street, but, it is near it--and, taking scenic pictures from a speeding car (note, I wasn't driving), you have to take what you can get. Funny thing is, he wasn't even named after the street, although, it's still kind of neat.

Birding in the City

Something about having a baby. Travel, and the outdoors just seem so challenging; but, nature is interesting that way, it just pops up.

Urban Sundials

Kind of a found art lawn sculpture.

San Jose Highrises

Now, we don't have your typical tall buildings, downtown, but, we make do.

Homemade Ginger Ale

I love a good ginger ale, and, this place makes it fresh, can you believe it? If you're looking for a tasty lunch in Downtown San Jose, check it out,

E&O Trading Company

Funny name, but, really yummy food.

Wednesday, September 15, 2004

See, this is the cool stuff he doesn't get to do at home. Man, I'd be freaked out--babies and paint? I mean, I've seen what he can do just taking a bath!

Shadow Portraits

Sometimes, you don't even need a mirror.

Sunday, September 12, 2004

All Pooped Out

Funny thing is, he used to hate that playpen. Now, he can't seem to get enough of it.

Saturday, September 11, 2004

There's something so alluring about old doors. Maybe it's the lighting. Does it make me look thin?

Tinkle Crinkle Rattle & Squeak

That would be the bright colorful thing. Comes highly recommended--and he really does like it!

Baby Bjorn

It's gettin' a bit on the tight side, but, he still likes it.
